NEW DATA ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF JAPANESE WHITE BIRCH (BETULA PLATYPHYLLA SUKACZ.) IN THE OLYUTORSKY DISTRICT OF THE KORYAK OKRUG (KAMCHATSKY KRAI)

New data on the distribution of Japanese white birch (Betula platyphylla Sukacz.) groves in Olyutorsky District (Koryak Okrug Kamchatsky Krai) are presented. The geobotanical description white-birch forests valley River Kailulovayam, a tributary Vyvenka, is given. Using dominantdeterminant approach were ascribed to association Betuletum platyphyllae fruticoso-varioherbosum. White-birch Koryak grow valleys large rivers areas away from influence Bering Sea. They occupy above-floodplain terraces with mesic coarse-loam and loamy sand soils underlain by pebbles. studied community Betula similar floral composition structure shrub-forb Penzhinsky Okrug. In comparison Kamchatka analogues, Northern Koryakia characterized reduced composition. grove Kaylulovayam second confirmed location District.
